PCJ – Challenge 20

I’m a little late with this post as I’m just getting over a  really bad migraine. My vision is still a little fuzzy and the laptop makes my eyes sore so it’s taking me a while to catch up with a few blog posts, I’ll be back in a while with my post for this weeks Critter Sketch Challenge.

Anyhoo, I’m sharing my creation for this weeks Paper Crafting Journey challenge where the theme this week is:

PUNCHES OR DIES

Clean and Simple Christmas Card (1)_thumb[2]

I have kept my card quite simple and have used a die to cut an aperture to let the backing paper show through. I was inspired by this weeks sketch challenge at Less is More and actually made my card on Saturday but due to the migraine I’m only going to make the challenge by the skin of my teeth.

Please hop over to Paper Crafting Journey and see what the rest of the DT have made.

Bye for now.

Lisa

Items: Scalloped 6x6 card blank, patterned paper from a Daisy and Dandelion pad, nesties, Rich Cocoa Memento inkpad, a Penny Black Christmas Stamp set, pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts and ProMarkers.

Sarah Hurley Challenge – #50 Vintage

We are starting to plan a house move so things are starting to get a little hectic round here...thank goodness for crafting to relax me.

This is my first challenge as part of Sarah Hurley’s DT and the theme for our challenge is:

VINTAGE

We have a sponsor for this challenge, Altered Expressions and they have donated three fabulous prizes.  I used one of Altered Expressions wonderful Hummingbird collage sheets and made this little boxed notelet set:

Vintage Notelets (3)

I made a simple square box from plain white card and covered the edge of the lid with some cream lace. I then took one of the larger Hummingbird images from the collage sheet and triple embossed it also adding a line of gold and then white embossing around the edge, because the image was already embossed the gold and white seeps in and gives a lovely soft edge.

Vintage Notelets (3)
This image was mat and layered on some pink Core’dinations, white punched border and some pearl pink card (which had been embossed in my Cuttlebug).  For the notelets I started by making four 4 inch square cards and punching the edge of each with a border punch., also adding pale pink glitter paper, patterned paper, lace and pearls. Next I’ve taken four more of the Hummingbird images and distressed the edges with some Spun Sugar Distress Ink and then stamped the edges with flourishes (using a butterfly stamp) and embossed with white EP. I then edged the images with a brown Whispers brush marker before layering on the card bases.

Vintage Notelets (5)

I hope you like. It’s a little different for me but I’m really pleased with how it turned out.
II would like to enter the following the following challenges:
Thanks for popping by and don’t forget to check out what the rest of the DT have been making.

HIDDEN MESSAGE

Hidden Message Card

So all you have to do is hide a message somewhere on your project, which could be anything from a simple hidden tag or something more complicated like a kinetic card. Here’s my hidden message

ATC Challenge Blog – Challenge 10

I’ve been having another mini holiday (well staying at y Mum and Dads for a week) so have been a little quiet on the blogging front but I should be back to posting a little more over the coming weeks.  It’s time for another challenge over at ATC Challenge Blog and this times theme is:

ANYTHING GOES

(Optional ‘Something that Represents You’ Theme)

UTEE Embelished ATC

I have been having a play with making my own embellishments again (see here) which says a lot about me. I’m not happy using things just as they were intended but like to experiment and have a play. Also the colours and ribbon show that at heart I’m quite a girly girly.

Pop over to the ATC Challenge Blog to have a look and see what the rest of the design team have made.

Items: Card, Mirror Board, Stamp from Inkadinkado, Perfect Medium inkpad, VersaFine inkpad, VersaMagic Inkpad, White, Clear Sparkle and Purple embossing powder and ribbon from my stash.

Some Fabulous News to Share…

I’ve been a little busy of late with crafty and non crafty things plus I’m staying with my parents while my hubby is on a walking holiday in Scotland.

He’s nuts to have been out walking this last week in the weather we’ve had here in the UK.  I’ve been a tad worried about him as he’s been staying in a tent and was due to camp again tonight. Fortunately he has seen sense and has booked a hotel for the last night of his holiday, so that’s one less thing for me to worry about.

On a more crafty note, I couldn’t last a whole week week without my craft stuff (especially as I’ve just spent two weeks holiday away from it) so I brought a few bits and bobs with me to my parents.  I had to laugh, my Mums neighbour came round and saw me with my stash set out on Mums dining table and Mum told her that I had brought all my stuff with me…..if only she knew how wrong she was, I think I only brought about a tenth with me…lol.

Anyhoo I’ve been waffling, the wonderful news I wanted to share is that I’ve joined Sarah Hurley's design team and I’m so looking forward to getting started. My first project will be for the next challenge on 22nd September.

If you have time it would be great if you could stop by the other new girls joining me on the DT: Claire, Elaine, Jess and Nikki

I’ll be back later with a new challenge over at ATC Challenge Blog.

Bye for Now

PCJ – Challenge 18

I can’t believe how cold the weather seems to have got the last couple of days, wouldn’t it be nice to have a nice warm start to September?

It’s time for another challenge at PCJ and this week it’s…

A SKETCH CHALLENGE

We are being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique and the DT were lucky enough to be given some images to work with.

IMG_4872

This particular image was so cute and magical and reminded me of a scene in my favourite Disney Film, Beauty and the Beast, when all the crockery comes to life and starts singing. Have you got ‘Be our guest’ in your head? I do, but then again you are probably proper grown ups and not a big kid like me!!

Enough random waffle from me, please hop over to Paper Crafting Journey and see what the rest of the DT have made.

Bye for now.

Items: White 6x6 Card blank, DCWV Paper Pad, First Edition Paper Pad, Memento Paris Dusk inkpad, Image from The Stamping Boutique, Coloured with ProMarkers and Copic Spica Pens, Nesties, Joycrafts Flower Dies, Liquid Pearls  and Sentiment from Pink Gem
