Scarecrow and Friends

CD Scarecrow and Friend (1)

Just a quick post from me to share the second to last of Augusts makes. Here is a tag shaped card made using Scarecrow and Friend from Crissy’s Digis:

CD Scarecrow and Friend (2)

I made a mistake I don’t often do any more when making cards and I coloured my image before picking any patterned papers. I really struggled finding anything to match so I went for plain coloured card and added some pattern of my own with embossing and stencilling.

The flowers are punched from a cork sheet and coloured with a ProMarker.

Supplies:

  • Image: Scarecrow and Friend from Whimsy Stamps
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • Card: Copic X-Press It, DCWV Cork Sheet and Orange and Green Core’dinations card
  • Dies & Punches: Hole Punch, Corner rounder and Flower Punch
  • Misc: Embossing Folder, Sarah Hurley Chevron Stripe Stencil, Brown Paint and sandpaper
  • Embellishments: Handmade Flowers and Card Candi

Poppy

Morning All. I don’t seem to have quite got back into the swing of blogging since coming back from holiday, not helped by another tummy bug.

Anyhoo, it’s time for a new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge and this time our theme picked by the lovely Claire is:

It’s Summer Time

Here is my card using Poppy

I’ve used the no lines colouring technique but printed the digi in beige rather than grey (thanks to Alyce at Kit and Clowder for that tip) and it was much easier to colour. Old Mr Mojo has taken a bit of a walk at the moment (if you see him please send him back…lol) so I have kept the rest of the card simple with an embossed background, sentiment and a ribbon.

Supplies:

  • Image: Poppy by Pink Gem Designs
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers and Copics
  • Card: Copic X-Press It Card, Coral and Purple Core’dinations Card and textured white card
  • Stamps: Sentiment from Pink Gem Designs
  • Dies & Punches: Floral Oval Nestabilities and X-Cut Square Punch
  • Embellishments: Glitter Glue

Favourite Things

Morning all. I don’t know about you (or if it’s just my funny old brain) but having wrote that title I can’t stop singing the song from The Sound of Music!

Anyhoo, it’s my turn over on the Sarah Hurley 365 blog today and I’m showing the clipboard I decorated for this months challenge, it uses one of my favourite colour combos…yellow and grey.

Here is a sneak peak

Please hop over to the Sarah Hurley 365 blog to see the card in full and to see what the rest of the team made for the challenge click here.

Angelica

Morning All. I am trying to get organized today as we are off on our holidays again on Saturday. This time it’s a week in Cornwall with my parents and I’m looking forward to the break, but I need to get all the boring chores done before we go.

I’m sharing some Pink Gem Inspiration today using one of Janet’s new images Angelica. Isn’t she adorable?

The image is so beautiful I have kept the rest of the layout pretty simple. I and I been playing with flower punches again…trying to match them to the flowers on the image.

  • Image: Angelica by Pink Gem Designs
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • DP: Forever Friends Kraft 12x12 pad from DoCrafts
  • Card: White Linen Card
  • Stamps: Whimsy Stamps

Tag You’re IT

Morning All. More decorating for me today but before I get started with that I thought I would show this little tag card I made for a feature on the Whiff of Joy blog called ‘Tag You’re It Tuesday’.

I’ve been playing with my Inktense pencils again. I love them more and more each time I use them. I can colour an image so much quicker than I can with markers simply because the water controls the blending and instead of using at least 3 markers to create a blend/contrast within each colour this can be done with just 1 pencil and a waterbrush!

For more info on the rest of the tag please visit my post on the Whiff of Joy blog.

Supplies:

  • Colouring Medium: Derwent Inktense Pencils
  • DP: Basic Grey and MME
  • Card: Anna Marie Designs Kraft Card and Bockingford Watercolour card
  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Summer Stamp Kit
  • Dies & Punches: Spellbinders Plain and Picot Edge Circles and an X-Cut Corner rounder
  • Embellishments: Pearls and Twine

Grow a Little Love

Morning All. I have been a bit quiet lately what with School Holidays, decorating and generally keeping the kids amused! But, I have been busy creating though, in fact as a reward for decorating I had a weekend off and spent as much time as I could in my craft room. So with an afternoon of painting ahead of me I thought I would write up a couple blog posts over a leisurely Cuppa….plus I’ve bribed the kids to sit still with a snack ;-)

Now we all know I love cute and this image falls perfectly into that category….it’s Wryn Grow a Little Love by Tiddly InksTiddly Inks are having a DT call at the moment and I couldn’t resist  having a try. The call asked us to use our favourite image but just picking one would have had me dithering for hours so I decided to use the first Tiddly Inks image I ever bought.

I like to have a few ‘Just Because’ type cards in my stash, so I made this little cutie….it’s a favourite card shape for me but I have no idea what’s it’s called….any suggestions are welcome! All the layers have been edged with Walnut stain Distress ink and I have kept the layout fairly simple. I have kept the embellishment simple, just adding handmade flowers – which I tried to match to the shape of the flowers in the patterned paper.

Supplies:

  • Image: Wryn Grow a Little Love by Tiddly Inks
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers plus a few Copics for hair (and I can see a I have a sticky marker that needs cleaning!)
  • DP: Magazine Freebie
  • Card: Anna Marie Designs Kraft Card and Copic X-Press It
  • Dies & Punches: Spellbinders Floral Ovals, MFT Rolled Roses, MFT 5 Point Flowers (I used the leaves), Various Flower Punches and a Fiskars Heart Corner Punch (for the little hearts)
  • Embellishments: Cream Ribbon, Glitter Glue and Viva Decor Pearl Pen
